Vocabulary
Nucleus- The "brain" of the cell. The nucleus is the control center of the cell.
Cytoplasm- The fluid like substance inside the cell. It is like "jello".
Chloroplast- These are like "green ovens" for plants. When the sunlight is caputured, the plant can make its food. These chloroplasts contain chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is the green pigment that captures the sunlight.
Vacuole- This is the cell's "vacuum". The plant cell has a very large vacuole and the animal's
vacuole is much smaller. This stores nutrients within the cell.
Cell Membrane- The outer covering of the cell. It is like the "skin".
Cell Wall- An extra support later for plant cells. It is a "wall".
